Don Airey – Going Home

“Going Home” is the first release on Don’s own label Ravine Records, and marks his stunning return to the grand piano, with six solo and six trio pieces featuring Laurence Cottle on bass and Darrin Mooney on drums.

All twelve compositions mirror Don’s jazz and classical roots, and were recorded at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire between 2014 and 2016. Besides musical reflections on returning to his native North East England, there are also tributes to jazz piano heroes Bill Evans, and Fats Waller, plus musical tips of the hat to the Beatles and Deep Purple.

Priced at £9.99 (plus P+P) and available by mail order, each CD is signed by Don. Coming in the New Year is an album of printed transcriptions of all the music.
